身為藍營政治人物的吳志揚擔任中華職棒大聯盟會長後，為了職棒的蓬勃發展、尤其第五、第六隊的籌組，日前答應台北市長柯文哲的邀約，成為柯P的市政顧問，希望有助天母球場解禁與新球隊的誕生。
柯P的市政顧問遍布各領域，有行政管理、財政經濟、都市建設、社福勞工、體育休閒、安全防災、文化與教育等，吳志揚將著重在體育休閒方面，適時提出建言。
原本柯P幕僚很早接洽吳志揚是否願意加入市政顧問？吳志揚回應是「如果只是掛名好看就不必了，除非可以真臺中英文家教行情正做到事情，發揚施政功能。」經過幾番溝通、協調，吳志揚才點頭答應。
吳志揚曾是國民黨籍縣長，其父吳伯雄又是國民黨大老，吳算是藍營有分量的政治人物，要他成為無黨籍台北市長柯文哲的市政顧問，多少有些顧慮，不過，為了中職發展，他不得不「有所抉擇」。
台北市是中職發源地，中職在台北市立棒球場起家，創造台灣職棒巔峰，如今北市職棒球賽愈來愈少，今年天母球場僅9場比賽、 6都之中最少，職棒逐漸遠離，除了眾多北市球迷不滿、同是球迷的柯P太座陳佩琪也不高興。
吳志揚希望透過陳佩琪是中職球迷的關係，加上自己成為市政顧問成員，因而影響柯P也關心中職的未來，尤其天母棒球場能否透過改善設施，解除現有限制？讓球團可以認養，這對中職經營是重大突破。
